When I was about eight years old in 1980 I was watching a televison program, I think it may have been Donahue, but I am not sure. In this program there was a woman saying "There is nothing immoral about abortion, we just go in and remove the bag of cells and that is it"
That puzzled me. Even at that young age I said "Aren't we all bags of cells." I asked my mother and she said "Yes". When I was about 15 or so I saw a picture of a three week old in it's mother's womb. I said "That ain't a bag, that's a baby." I wondered to myself at that point, how in the world could anyone celebrate the destruction of anything so beautiful. Life begins at conception when 23 M and 23 F make 46, that is the start of life no question. Any doctor, biologist, clergy or honest person will tell you that.
There is never a justification for murdering the innocent regardless of age. Even when the child is conceived in the process of a rape. One should not blame the child for how it got here. Adoption is always the answer is those crcumstances, not abortion. If a doctor says, the child will have large problems, guess what, all children have large problems, if you cannot handle it, please give the baby to someone who will, don't kill it.
In all my years, when a woman miscarries, I have never heard anyone say, she lost the fetus, she lost the subject, or she lost the bag of cells. Everyone says she lost the baby.
I am against embryonic stem cell research. It's mad science, plain and simple. You cannot kill Peter to help Paul. The only thing embryonic stem cells have created is tumors and death. I am all in favor of adult, cord blood, and after birth cells, being used because those have had positive effects on people and no one dies when those stem cells are used. I should know, a bone marrow transplant is basically an adult stem cell transplant.
In March of 1995 three months before my 23rd birthday, I was diagnosed with leukemia, being an only child, my only hope was an unrelated donor. I got one and I had a transplant in 1996, after a full year in isolation by 1997 I was back to normal and since I've been fit as a fiddle and healthy as an elephant, (conservative plug there, could not resist) but because of the transplant I am sterile and cannot have children that natural way. That is why my dedication to the cause even became stronger. When I think of people having an abortion when there are so many people who cannot have children I just cry. If and when I get married I will adopt. Most women my age already have kids so maybe I will marry someone who already has kids.
How did all this stuff about doctor assisted suicide, quality of life, and the right to die start? It all started with Roe vs. Wade, and it has only gotten worse. In order to save the next generation, we must promote the culture of life.
