The media has never let the facts get in the way of a good story but now they have taken lunacy to an all new level.
The events that happened at Harvard University awhile ago have nothing to do with police racially profiling African-Americans. The events displayed a problem much bigger on college campuses.
A Harvard professor who thinks he is better than anyone else turned what could have been just a normal everyday event into a major news story to promote his agenda. Gates was the only one who brought race into the equation at the scene. Later, President Obama would do the same at his press conference on Wednesday. Sgt. Crowley never brought up race.
As a man who has worked at Harvard University, I can tell you these “Do you know who I am?” moments happen all the time on campus. This is what happened here. The police were doing their job. They were called to investigate a possible break in to a house that had been broken into weeks earlier. No profiling had taken place. When the police arrived, Gates decided to verbally attack the officer instead of cooperating with him.
By now you know that Sgt. Crowley is one of the least racist people in the world. The State-run media almost acted sad when the reports came out about all the great things he has done for the African-American Community. You could almost hear the collective, “Dammit, There goes our agenda story!”
Then, out of nowhere, at the end of the most scripted press conference in history, President Obama commented on a subject he admitted he knew nothing about and the rest is history.
President Obama, without knowing any facts fell back on his Rev. Wright teachings that clearly state, “When there is a situation where a white policeman arrests a black man, there must be racial injustice!”
Now I am afraid that President Obama will use Sgt. Crowley in this “beer drinking photo- op” to make him look like the great unifier. To turn a play on a Bush family catch phrase, “President Obama is a divider, not a uniter.” President Obama is the most polarizing President in the history of the United States.
President Obama had the audacity to tell the rest of the citizens of the United States to use this as a teachable moment…
I have two lessons.
The first lesson I offer to President Obama, Governor Patrick, Spokesperson Robert Gibbs and Congressman Frank. Always know the facts before you open your mouth. When in doubt, leave it out!
The second lesson I offer to Professor Gates. If the police show up at your house to make sure everything is okay, be nice to them, after all they are not your enemy, they are there to protect you.
It’s Sunday Night… May God Bless America!
