Thoughts on the Bailout and the Debate...

Better late than never, I'm back...  First, lets start with the bailout.  I totally disagree with this argument that unless we give 700 billion dollars to the people that messed the entire system up in the first place just to have the entire thing happen again further down the road, we will be headed for the next great depression.   The bill might cause the next great depression. As "The Great One" Mark Levin said "It's like rebuilding houses after an arsonist burned them down,  and then giving the arsonist a fresh set of matches."  I have never been a fan of "knee-jerk" legislation. Often times when something "bad" happens, the Congress passes a bill to "avoid this kind of thing from happening again". The bill is often signed into law within 24 hours and ends up screwing up the situation more than the original so-called crisis.

On to the debate... It was a draw,  John McCain missed some key points to bring up when Barack was attacking him.   For instance when Barack attacked him on 350 billion in tax cuts. John should have been more aggressive in bring up Barack's proposed 900 billion dollars in new spending on government programs that will not help working people.  He eventually got to it later, but I think he should have hit the point hard.

On foreign affairs, John McCain stunbled as well, when Barack said that China and Russia should have a say in what we do against Iran, John should have pointed out that kind of thinking is what delayed us  from action in the 1930's and caused World War II.  If we had gone after Hitler in 1936 when he was relatively small compared to what he became, World War II would have never happened.  China and Russia will never agree with an United States attack on Iran. So that gives Barack cover for not doing it if he becomes President.  Just like Senator John Forbes Kerry in 2004 "I will only defend the United States if the crisis passes the Global Test"  President John F. Kennedy is turning over in his grave right now saying "whatever happened to support any friend,  oppose any foe"

We need to seperate ourselves and withdraw from the U.N. not set up another bureaucracy that we have to answer to. The League of  Democracies that John McCain wants to set up would only prevent or delay America form doing what it needs to do right now.  It would set up another group that we would need permission from before we did anything.  The United States of America does not need permission from anyone to act in it's own  interest.  We declared independence as a sovereign nation back in the late 1700's Remember, the whole revolution thing???  Bad idea John, you better stick to "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran." That was the best idea you ever had.

In 2002 when Barack came out against the Iraq War,  he was in the Illinois State Senate. He claims it was a  bold move, that could have led to the end of his career, but he did what he thought was right and risked the political consequences..... What is he talking about?  Just  about every single  Democrat in the Illinois State Legislature was against  the Iraq war,  the political consequences would have been suffered if he actually supported it.  The nation as a whole was not paying attention to what was happening in the Illinois State Legislature at the time.  What the Illinois State Legislature would have passed  would have no baring on the war anyhow.  So at the time he just sided with the majority.  Then two and a half years later when he came to the United States Senate he said.  "The is no difference between me and George W. Bush on the war."   In the immortal words of Bill Clinton,   "This whole thing is the biggest fairy tale, I've ever heard."   I'm surprised that Obama did not vote present on the ceremonial protest bill that meant nothing anyway.

McCain Did It! Palin Rules..

Hooray! McCain picked a real conservative for Vice President!  He kept the momentum going from Saddleback.  I am actually excited about this campaign.  I'm actually going to put McCain Palin Signs in my yard.  I never thought I would have a John McCain sign in my yard but I guess stranger things have happened.  She is my kind of woman, Pro-Life for life, member of the NRA and knows how to handle a rifle,  and has a record of cutting taxes, keeping spending under control and fighting corruption.  I hope she is the Presidential nominee in 2012 to go against Hillary Clinton, if  McCain retires.   I cannot believe the Obama campaign is saying she is unqualified.  She has a better private sector resume than Obama does. She has run her own business.  What has Obama done? After getting all these massive degrees,  He became a "community organizer" for six years and then started running for political office.   Wow! What a hard life!

Heck, I have a better private sector resume than he has.

McCain-Palin 2008 soon to be appearing on my lawn...

In the immortal words...

In the immortal words of Joe Biden, "We have nothing to fear, but fear itself".  (1988) Senator Obama just gave to Republicans  a huge gift.   We have so much tape of this guy making a fool out of himself it is just incredible.  What was he thinking?

Another memory of Joe Biden I've been thinking about is during the 1991 confirmation hearing for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.  Senator Orin Hatch and Biden had this exchange.  Biden: "Your time is up  Senator Hatch"  Hatch "I think I have 30 more seconds... Can I just say two more sentences?"  Biden:  "God! Alright Dammit! just two more sentences but then I'm gonna cut you off real quick!"  Hatch:  "This is the United States of America, not the Soviet Union, Senator"  Biden: "Oh God, God!"  Hatch: "Now can I finsh...."
In 2000 during the confrmation of Attorney General John Ashcroft, Senator Biden full of pompousness and arrogance showed up late as usual and then went on to pontificate about the importance of not verbally hurting minorties,  which John Ashcroft has never done and has no record of.   On the other hand, two of Biden's comments recently have hurt Muslims and African-Americans.   Practice what you preach Joe.  Oh, I forgot, you are a liberal you do not believe in that. You believe "Do as I say, not as I do"

Don't even get me started on the confirmation of Judge Robert Bork which he turned into a fiasco, that would eventually derail the appointment of Bork to the Supreme Court.   Bork would have made an excellent Supreme Court Justice and maybe if he did get on the court back then we would not  have all the problems we have today.

I wish the media would stop calling Senator Biden  a devout Catholic.  You can't support abortion and be a devout Catholic.  You must be pro-life to be a real Cathiolic.  I'm Evangelical but I am more Catholic than he is.  I'm pro-life for life.

McCain defeated Obama during Saddleback.  Maybe if he picks a good VP he can keep the momentum going.

It's Sunday, God Bless America.

The War on the Rich

I have never been jealous of a person who has more money than me. I have never had bitter feelings or hate filled rage against the rich and powerful. The only thing I have ever tried to do is emulate the rich and powerful so I could be rich and powerful as well.   With the exception of lottery winners and people born into business dynasties the majority of the rich people in this country are rich because they have worked hard and put their success above all else.  Most of them had made sacrifices in their personal life that most people could never dream of. The amount of money you make in your lifetime is basically up to you.  There are some unfortunate circumstances in which this is not the case, but for the most part, you make your own life.

Liberals do not understand the economy. This leads to their delusional view of the rich.  Liberals feel that no matter what your current job your employer should pay you enough money to own a house, get married, and own two cars, even if you are only 16 years old.    They also believe if you do not want to work, you shouldn’t have to. You should be able to sit in your home all day, when other people work and get the same amount of money or more than the people are working.

An example, liberals are always talking about raising the minimum wage. They were so happy when the minimum wage was raised to $7.25.  They talked about all of the people who live on the minimum wage.     The minimum wage was never supposed to be lived on. It was not created so you could get married and give your children college educations.        Minimum wage work was supposed to be a way to introduce young people, ages 16-22 to entry level work. It was a way they could get used to working and having more responsibility.  It was money for your first savings account and having fun on Friday Night.  It was not something you could pay a mortgage with.   By the time a young person is 23, through college, trade school, military service, or employment, the young person is supposed to have learned concepts and gathered skills to help him or her get a job above the minimum wage.   If a person is 45 years old and still making minimum wage, the problem is not the wage, the problem is the person.

Another example, liberals think that everyone who makes over $50,000 a year is rich. Rational people who have balanced a check book know that this is not the case. They talk down to people who are successful as if they should be ashamed of what they have done with their lives.  74% of all jobs are created in the private sector. Who creates these new jobs?  Rich people create jobs. There ought to be a national day of recognition for rich people for all they have done for the country.    Liberals think if someone makes the right life choices, works hard, and becomes financially independent from the government, they have to be punished with higher taxes to pay for all of the 45 year old minimum wage workers who never learned how to do anything.

In conclusion, if the liberals have their way, 55 year old Chief Executive Officers and 17 year old fast food drive through window workers will soon be making the same amount of money, all in the name of fairness.   Sounds like Communism to me….. Save the Free Market! Never vote for a liberal!

Another Argument Against the "Fairness Doctrine"

If Senator Barack Obama becomes President and the Democrat Party holds and increases their majority in Congress, there is talk of the so-called "Fairness Docotrine" coming back.  The doctorine would basically end talk radio as we know it.  The stations would stop doing the talk format just like they did in the early 80's.  Because people do not listen to liberals that are not entertaining (See the failed Air America).  In my mind the playing field is finally becoming fair the way things are now...  The majority of all "media" are still liberal but we have made signifigant gains against the juggernaught.   For the first time things finally are fair.  As everyone knows liberals cannot beat conservatives in a fair fight, so now they have to change things so you cannot hold them accountable.   Hey liberals, check out the First Amendment you care about  so much...
If they ever try to bring it back, I will personally organize a march on Washington D.C. and to quote the movie Tombstone "You tell  them, I'm coming, and hell is coming with me!!!"  If they even try it, they will lose their majority in 2010.  Talk Radio is the American voter.     The Amercian people will not stand for that.   "Go ahead, make my day" from Sudden Impact   I had to get that off my chest.... Now  on to the new argument...

Here is another interesting argument against the "Fairness Doctrine" I wonder what would happen if we tried to put a fairness doctrine on "music radio"  What if we said  all the rap, hip hop, and alternative rock stations which play music filled with  sex, violence and liberalism had to play Gospel and Christian music half the day  to balance out the sex, violence and liberalism. ..  You know if we tried to do anything like that, the liberals would go nuts saying, "You are trying to impose our beliefs on others, you can't do that!!" "You cannot tell a radio station what their content should be, the First Amendment forbids it!!"

That's right pal, we cannot do that, and neither can you......

The free market  should continue to decide who is on the radio  and who is not. If something is popular and it makes money it's going to be on the radio, and if it is not popular and does not make money then it's not going to last very long on the radio... There is no law banning liberals form the radio,  Liberals are free to start and market their own radio programs, such as Alan Colmes, who by the way, agrees with conservatives on this issue.   There is nothing to stop a liberal from marketing himself, I just do not want the government to step in  and say to a private radio station, you have to program your station to be fair to everyone,  have an hour of rap, then rock, then conservative talk, then liberal talk,  then  a cooking show, then a cleaning show, then an Elvis show, and so on and so on.  The more voices the better,  but they should not be mandated by the government.

If you do not like what is being said, change the channel or shut the radio off, but don't shut it off for the rest of us.  Let the rock stations play rock, let the rap stations play rap, and let the conservative talk stations talk conservative talk, and let the liberals compete in the free market like the rest of us have to.

Whenever I get a day off from work I listen to Bill Bennett, Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin and even when I cannot listen I feel comforted by the fact that they are on the air giving my point of view to those who can listen.   God bless them all.

The 2nd Amendment Lives...

The Supreme Court has upheld the Second Amendment to the Constitution.  The DC gun ban is history.  That is the good news.  The bad news is the vote was 5-4.  That means there are four judges that did not follow the Constitution.  Four judges that find law that does not exist, using a standard that does not exist.   That is why if anybody is on the fence about who they should vote for in November, this close decision ought to help them make up there mind.   Senator Barack Obama's comment on this decision was incoherent and blustery.  We cannot allow this man to pick the next two or three Supreme Court Justices .  I'm not saying Senator John McCain's are sure to be conservative originalists.  Republican's have made bad picks as well,  such as Souter, Kennedy and O'Connor.   However, when the choice is McCain or Obama, I'd rather take my chances with McCain.  (I'll be praying a lot).

As a person who has lived, worked and vacationed in Washington D.C. I think the overturning of this ban will make the District a whole lot safer.   I know I will feel a lot safer when I go back there either for a vacation or to work again.  I know this argument is an old one but the bad guys will always have guns no matter how many laws get passed,  I just want the good, honest hard working people to be able to defend themselves, as well as their family and property.  No one should have to live in fear at any time.

Obama is a product of the far left

Recently Senator Barack Obama charged that "Senator John McCain used to be a moderate maverick that stood up against his party when they were "wrong, but since he started running for President he has become a clone of President Bush and agrees with the Republican party on everything."   Yeah right,  If only that were true....

In any case, if the new standard qualification to be President of the United States is how many times a candidate disagrees with one's own party, then Senator Obama fails his own test miserably.  National Journal a non-partisan organization has rated Senator Barack Obama the most liberal member of the Senate.  He has never disagreed with the far left wing of his party and his voting record shows it.  He views on issues like abortion and gun control are downright scary.  He has a tax plan comparable  to Walter Mondale's 1984 tax strategy, which was raise taxes on everything possible.  His stance on the Iraq war tells me, he would never use military force for any reason at all, even if this country was attacked.   In his mind it seems that it is better to be loved around the world  by others, rather than  have are own country be protected from terrorists.

An Obama presidency would damage our country economically and culturally, as well as put us in grave danger of another terrorist attack.  America just cannot afford him on any level...

McCain Opens Fundraisers to "Print" Reporters

I just finished reading Amanda Carpenter's Blog about this topic. I had to write my own blog about the story.  First, I am getting sick of politicians who say things in from of their "money contributors" and do something completely different  when they get elected or re-elected.
When running for office you should always run on who you are.   Politicians should talk the same way to everybody.   All this stuff about,  moving to the right, moving to the left,  moving to the center nonsense is ridiculous.  Politicians that say things like "I had to say that to my base to get elected, I had no intention of actually doing it" or "Hey look it is an election year I  have to say this" really annoy me.   If you are a conservative be a conservative.  If you are a moderate be a moderate.  Stop all the pandering.  I think the transparency will be a good thing.       I

Obama's Grandmother Memory

By now you have all heard about Senator Barack Obama's "Uncle" story and subsequent  retraction/correction.  Tonight, I will tell you about another "Family" story that may or may not be the entire truth.   Earlier this year Senator Barack Obama was accused of lifting entire passages from a speech made by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.   This speech has become known as the "just words" speech that then candidate Patrick used during the 2006 campaign.

However, the story might not end there...  In January 2008 during Governor Patrick's State of the State address, Patrick told a story about being accepted to Harvard and his grandmother "not knowing where Harvard was".   On several occasions during  2007 while campaigning for President, Senator Obama told the same story about being accepted to Harvard and his grandmother "not knowing where Harvard was".

Now in fairness to both gentlemen, they both could be telling the truth.  They both could have grandmothers that do not know where Harvard is.  However, it could also be another invented campaign story to enhance a candidate's image.
